Munich Airport Photos

We have arrived at Munich and now need to kill 4 hours!
This shot's for Carrie and her "Hermie scarves"
Our first experience paying with euros and we must have done something right because here's our german kaffe drinks!
Working on the photography skills!

Looking alittle rough after a 9 hour flight!

Layover Lameness and German Coffee!

June 29, 2010

Guten Morgan from Munich! Jenny and I are here at the airport for a few hours before our connecting flight to Athens. I have forgotten how much I HATE long overnight flights. And our flight wasn’t that long from Chicago (only 8 hours) and we left there at 6 p.m., so it was hard to fall asleep to begin with because it was still early. Here’s a summary of the flight: First of all, Jenny and I didn’t get to sit together. Then, I have the guys behind me that think of themselves as business class, but are flying economy. So halfway through the flight, they decide that they’ve had enough sleep and proceed to talk to each other at normal volumes. Rude. I could hear them over my headphones at 1 a.m. And to make matters worse, one of them was practicing his kung fu moves into the back of my seat for a solid hour. Then to top things off, I’m pretty sure I was sitting behind the smelliest teenager on planet Earth J He made my brothers smell like fresh daisies! And that’s hard to do! So needless to say, I didn’t get a great amount of sleep. But we’re here! And we’re drinking German coffee! So all is well. More from Athens to come…

Lauren

HOLA! Oops wrong country! Sooooo although I was seated apart from my traveling buddy, I had a fairly decent flight due to my ability to sleep under harsh conditions (thanks Willey family car vacations)! I did, however, wake myself up when drool fell from my open mouth and onto my chest… And for all though’s who have spent a night with me: no I did not talk in my sleep to the man sitting next to me… Well at least hopefully not… There was a sweet personal TV built into each seat, so I pretty much tuned everybody out between Valentine’s Day, Invictus, Wolfman, dozing off, and a delish pasta dish for dinner. Both Chicago’s and Munich’s airports make Little Rock’s look like the country cousin. The foreign languages are swirling all around us as we sip our german kaffe and feel relieved that the one Euro we had with us worked! Thanks to Sarena for supplying us with our first foreign mullah! When we were standing in line, we both looked at each other like “I hope they take this stuff”… And at the moment of truth when she gave us our total for 2 coffee drinks 10,30, Lauren ran off to sit at a table and I handed the Monopoly money over. She took it and I thumbs up’ed Lauren to let her know we were totally legit world travelers who could handle a little thing like currency change! Boo Yah german coffee lady!
